Chesapeake Humane Society opens C.A.R.E. Clinic
The Grand Opening of the first Companion Animal Resource and Education (C.A.R.E.), Clinic in support of the Chesapeake Animal Control was held with a ribbon cutting ceremony. City Council members and volunteers who have worked for many years to see this dream come true attended the open house. The Chesapeake Humane Society and C.A.R.E. clinic offers low cost spay and neuter services to animal welfare organizations, shelters and residents in Chesapeake, Hampton Roads and Eastern North Carolina. The mission of the Humane Society and Chesapeake Animal Control is to keep animals from entering the shelter in the first place by controlling the population.
Kathy Strouse, Superintendent of Chesapeake Animal Control, was the guest speaker at the ribbon cutting ceremony.
